The Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree is a four-year undergraduate course designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary to become qualified pharmacists. The MPharm program is accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). The program emphasises the seamless integration of science and practice, offering students a well-rounded education in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice. Students also have the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary research projects, enhancing their skills and preparing them for a successful career in pharmacy. Throughout the MPharm program, students at Swansea benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, including the Institute of Life Science (ILS), a world-class research and innovation centre.
Swansea uses an MMI format. You will be presented with 5 stations, of which each is designed to assess a particular key attribute or knowledge. You will be given a certain amount of time at each station (typically around 5-7 minutes). You will be evaluated at each individual station and the scores will then be used to help decide whether you should be offered a place.

Ensure that you prepare for the MMI format. That means working to cover a range of different question types, being prepared for scenario-style questions, and practising longer interview formats over different assessors (ideally with a tutor or someone with a healthcare background). Resource wise, ensure that you cover the GPhC standards for pharmacists, ORIEL SJT past papers, and read up on current healthcare news.
