Advice & Insight From UCAT Specialists
There are thirty different universities which each use the UCAT score differently. Before applying, it is important to familiarise yourself with how each university will use your score during the admissions process. For some, the UCAT score plays a significant factor in determining applications and as such they may have a minimum overall cut-off score that must be attained or even individual minimum scores in the cognitive subtests. Some universities look at the total scaled score achieved whilst others may focus more on individual subtest scores. Other universities will consider the UCAT score alongside factors such as academic achievement, your personal statement and other contextual factors (such as socio-economic factors).
When thinking about where to apply, either before you have done the UCAT or once you have your test results, it is worth knowing how each university will use your UCAT score. Here follows a summary of how each of the thirty UCAT universities use UCAT scores in their entry requirements. For more detailed and the latest up to date information, you should consult the relevant pages on their websites.
