Advice & Insight From Interview Specialists

Trinity School of Medicine Overview & Tuition Fees

Trinity School of Medicine (TSOM) sits on the Caribbean island of St. Vincent, boasting a rigorous medical program steeped in a culture of support and inclusivity. TSOM’s primary mission is to educate compassionate, skilled doctors to serve in areas of the U.S, Canada, and the world where healthcare access and services are most needed.

As of 2023, TSOM’s annual tuition for the preclinical MD program is approximately $22,100 and for the clinical sciences program is approximately $27,950. This cost is relatively affordable compared to many other medical schools, especially when considering the rich clinical experiences, exceptional facilities, and comprehensive support services that students receive.

Trinity School of Medicine Interview Format

When you apply to TSOM, you will be subject to a holistic review process where all aspects of your application are considered – from your academic background to your personal qualities and experiences. Part of this process is the personal interview, which is designed to gauge your communication skills, understand your motivations for pursuing medicine, and assess whether your personal values align with those of the school.

The interview is typically held with a member of the faculty and is largely semi-structured. That is, there will be set questions, but there is room for the conversation to develop naturally based on your responses. You can expect the interview to cover a range of topics, including your understanding of the medical profession, your personal experiences, your academic achievements, and how you deal with stress or conflict. In some cases, ethical scenarios may be presented, and you’ll be asked to discuss how you would respond.

Does Trinity School of Medicine Use the CASPer?

TSOM does not use the CASPer test as part of its admissions process. The CASPer test (Computer-Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics) is an online situational judgement test used by some medical schools to assess applicants’ non-academic attributes, including professionalism, ethics, and communication. Therefore, it’s essential to check the most recent admission requirements on the school’s official website or contact the admissions office directly for the most accurate and current information.
