Purdue University College of Pharmacy, located in West Lafayette, Indiana, is dedicated to providing a comprehensive and innovative education in pharmacy. The PharmD program is designed to produce proficient pharmacists with strong clinical, research, and leadership skills. The four-year curriculum integrates a blend of coursework, research opportunities, and experiential learning. PharmD students participate in a series of introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences (IPPEs and APPEs), gaining hands-on exposure to diverse healthcare environments, including community pharmacies, hospitals, and ambulatory care clinics. Purdue University College of Pharmacy’s mission is to produce graduates who are committed to advancing patient care, public health, and the pharmacy profession, while contributing to the global community through innovation, research, and service.
The interview is for around 300 of the most qualified applicants, and takes place over 30 minutes. You will have two interviewers, and the interview takes place on campus. One interviewer is from the admissions committee and one is a faculty member. You will also have a video-recorded oral communication exercise, and a written paragraph & English usage quiz.

Tips, Techniques & Insight from Pharmacy Interviewers & Practising Pharmacists.
Per Purdue, ‘ethics are huge’ and you should also be prepared to answer questions on your motivation for Pharmacy, and how you will contribute to the school as a student of Pharmacy, as well as your strengths and weaknesses.
It is essential to consider the above focal points. Start by visiting the college’s official website to familiarise yourself with its core values, mission, and curriculum, which will help you align your responses with the expectations of the admissions committee. Reflect on your personal experiences, passions, and the ethical principles that have influenced your decision to pursue a career in pharmacy. Consider how you can contribute to the Purdue pharmacy community, both academically and through extracurricular activities. Official resources, such as the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) website or the Pharmacy School Admission Requirements (PSAR) guide, can provide valuable information on the interview process and how to prepare. Practice answering common interview questions, especially those related to ethical dilemmas and your motivation for choosing pharmacy.
