SFP Application Specialists

Northern SFP Key Information

The Northern Foundation School’s 49 Priority Programmes include six with a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education, offered across various Local Education Providers like County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.

The other 43 programmes, linked with North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, feature a £7,000 financial incentive as part of the TERS. Applications require responses to white space questions on Oriel, with SFP offers made in the January-February period.

Unsuccessful SFP applicants join standard FP recruitment.

There is also separate national F2 stand-alone recruitment, managed by the UKFPO, which targets overseas graduates eligible for GMC registration, offering entry into the UK’s training system.

Northern SFP Interview Format

Applicants who are shortlisted for the Northern Foundation School’s SFP will be invited to interviews which are typically scheduled for the final few days of November. These interviews will be conducted virtually using MS Teams. Shortlisted candidates will receive comprehensive details about the interview process and schedule upon invitation. It is important to note that no alternative interview dates are available, and missing the interview will result in no offer being made.

If you’re looking for 1-1 application support, you can find it through BlackStone Tutors.

Northern SFP Competition Ratio and Notes on Competition

Whilst no information is available on specific competition ratios, as there are a significant number of programmes available and the broader area’s foundation program is not overly competitive, one should assume that this is a less competitive specialised foundation program.
