Littleton Chambers is a prominent employment and commercial Chambers based in London, known for its expertise in a broad range of legal domains. Comprising 50 highly skilled barristers, including 15 distinguished silks, the set offers exceptional advice and advocacy in areas such as employment law, business protection, commercial law, civil fraud, insolvency, financial services, banking, commercial contracts, shareholder disputes, company and partnership law, injunctions, arbitration, mediation, sport, international and offshore disputes.

Each year, Littleton offers up to two fully-funded pupillages, with a strong focus on selecting candidates considered for tenancy. They may sometimes offer only one pupillage if suitable candidates are not identified. The application process is available through the Pupillage Gateway, and Littleton is open to candidates who have commenced or are preparing to begin the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC). As part of the application process, successful candidates can request an advance of part of their pupillage award. This aligns with Littleton’s aim to attract talent with a genuine and thoughtful interest in the bar and the specific practices of Littleton Chambers.

Littleton Chambers: Interview Information

Littleton Chambers has a detailed and rigorous selection process for pupillage applicants. The process begins with a sifting of applications, focusing on academic excellence, advocacy potential, and interest in both the general bar and Littleton’s areas of expertise. Selected candidates proceed to a first-round interview, where a legal problem question assesses their legal reasoning and advocacy skills. A key stage is the mini-pupillage, where candidates spend three days at Littleton, gaining insights from junior tenants, interacting with clerks and tenants, and engaging with solicitors and clients. During this time, they are asked to draft an opinion and discuss it in an interview. The final interview follows the same pattern as the first round, evaluating candidates through another legal problem. The process ensures a thorough assessment of applicants’ skills, commitment, and alignment with Littleton’s values.
