Figures for those applying to Medicine in the UK vary from year to year. For example, for 2017 entry there were 19,210 applicants, but this increased to 20,730 for 2018 entry. With regards to the most recent application cycle – for 2019 entry – there have been 22,340 medical applicants. It is likely that this number will continue to increase as the number of medical school spaces increase.
