Admissions Statistics & Process

All applicants to HLS must hold a bachelor’s, or expect to hold a bachelor’s prior to August of the year of their entry. The application process then continues as follows:
– You must submit a resume as part of your application. This should be limited to 1-2 pages in length
– You should use a personal statement to present yourself. This should cover your general background, your broader ideas, and crucially your qualifications. This personal statement should be limited to two pages, but ought also to use the full 2 pages.
– All applicants must take either the LSAT or GRE. You must submit all valid scores from the last five years
– You must submit two letters of recommendation, although you may submit up to three
– One of your letters of recommendation should be from an academic source

Key Dates

The most important date to be aware of for Harvard Law School applications is that you must submit by a set date in February, normally around February 20th, in order to be eligible for Fall Term enrollment.

Harvard Law Interview Details

You may be invited to interview as part of the application process for HLS. If this is the case, you should expect the first interviews to begin in November. You will be contacted directly by the Admissions Office to arrange your interview. Your interview will be conducted using Zoom. If there is a particular reason that this is not suitable for you, then the university will work with you to make an alternative solution possible.
