Gowling WLG Articling Program Overview

Gowling WLG’s articling program is designed to provide students with immersive experiences across various legal disciplines, enabling them to develop specialized expertise and thrive in their chosen fields. The program offers two distinct rotation options:

  1. Intensive Rotation Program: Ideal for students who have already identified a specialty, this program entails seven months of placement in either the Business, Advocacy, or Intellectual Property groups, followed by three months in another department.
  2. Balanced Rotation Program: Students in this program divide their time equally between Business Law and Advocacy, gaining exposure to a wide array of legal practices within each discipline.

Gowling WLG’s clientele comprises national and multinational organizations across industries such as energy, financial services, government relations, infrastructure, mining, manufacturing, technology, and life sciences.

Applicants are required to submit a résumé and transcripts along with a preference for either the balanced or intensive rotation program. Following a thorough review of applications, selected candidates undergo interviews in accordance with the Law Society of Ontario’s Articling Recruitment Procedures.
