Dentons Canada LLP offers a comprehensive articling program designed to provide students with a diverse learning experience. With offices in Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Calgary, and Montréal, Dentons prides itself on the quality of its program and the investment made in its students’ professional development.

Toronto Articling Program:

  • Orientation: A week-long program to familiarize students with the firm, colleagues, and resources.
  • Rotations: Four rotations of approximately 2.5 months each, covering various practice areas such as Litigation, Corporate/Securities, Banking and Finance/Insolvency, Real Estate, Tax, and Employment and Pensions.
  • Training: Biweekly seminar series, soft skills training, and exposure to all aspects of the firm’s practice areas.
  • Mentorship: Assigned articling and term principals, mentors in each department, and regular check-ins to ensure students’ development and integration into the firm’s culture.

Edmonton Articling Program:

  • Orientation: Comprehensive training covering Firm systems and procedures, including practical sessions and networking events.
  • Rotations: Two rotations of approximately six months each, providing experience in Litigation and Corporate practices.
  • Training: Supplemental training programs, lunch seminars, and Dentons Edmonton University sessions focusing on practical legal skills and business development.
  • Practice Areas: Exposure to a wide range of practice areas, including Corporate/Commercial, Real Estate, Tax, Labour and Employment, and more.
  • Mentorship: Principal mentorship throughout the articling year, with additional mentors assigned upon entering a practice area post-articling.

Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, and Montréal Articling Programs:

  • Similar structure and components as Toronto and Edmonton programs, tailored to the specific needs and opportunities of each office location.
