Describe a time when you faced an ethical dilemma at work. How did you address it, and what was the outcome?

In my previous role as a marketing manager, I faced an ethical dilemma when I discovered that our advertising campaign was misleading customers about the environmental benefits of one of our products. The campaign claimed that the product was made entirely from recycled materials, but in reality, only a small percentage of the materials were recycled. This discrepancy troubled me as it misrepresented the product and could damage our company’s reputation if it were exposed.

I decided to address the issue by first discussing my concerns with the campaign’s project leader, emphasizing the importance of transparency and honesty in our marketing practices. Despite initial resistance, I presented data and potential consequences of continuing with the misleading campaign, including the risk of consumer backlash and potential regulatory fines.
